Zeniac and Actipur Review

Noreva line for troubled, acne-prone skin

from left to right:

1) Zeniac Lotion

2) Zenia LP

3) Actipur moisturizer/ gel

4) Zeniac Roll Active

Price range: each above 10 Euro

*******************************

1) Zeniac Lotion:

- 100ml / 3.4 fl.oz

- contains AHA + Lactate D'Ammonium

- Purpose: exfoliating, purifying skin

- is a "toner"

-skin types: oily, acne prone skin

"apply with a cotton pad  twice a day"

My Opinion:

good lotion though, but would recommend it to people with normal to oily skin, not sensitive. May be too aggressive.  Only recommended to people with actual acne skin

****

2) Zeniac LP mattifying cream

- 30ml/ 1.0 fl.oz.

- contains AHA + BHA

- Purpose: reducing oil production, purifying skin, mattifying

- skin types: oily, acne prone skin

"apply it twice a day for at least 2 months"

My Opinion:

Pretty strong cream, not recommended to people with very sensitive or dry skin.

May irritate your skin at the beginning of usage due to the high AHA

Effective though, exfoliates skin, and helps mattifying your skin a lot (good for blackheads). Is definitely the best moisturizer if you want to achieve matte skin

Be aware that this will dry out your skin (AHA) like crazy, so that you automatically get dry patches on your skin and maybe irritations too.... (like me)
Recommended to use it during the night
There is also a stronger version called "Zeniac LP forte" but would not recommend it for people who try this skin care line for the very first time. The normal LP version may be enough for your skin

3) Actipur Moisturizer/ Gel

- 30ml/ 1.0 fl.oz.

- same purpose like the above mentioned product

- does not contain AHA, but Vitamin B

- less aggressive than Zeniac LP

- would recommend it to use it in the morning

-mattifying effect, but less than Zeniac LP

"apply it twice a day for at least 2 months"

My Opinion:

Less aggressive than the Zeniac LP one.

Suited for more sensitive skin types.
Moisturizes more than the Zeniac LP gel
Seems to be great for daily usage (does not contain AHA)
Mattifying effect is less than Zeniac LP, but enough
Would recommend this one over the LP -especially If you use this line for your very first time

4) Zeniac Roll`Active

- 5ml / 0.2 fl.oz.

- contains: AHA + BHA

-Purpose: dries out pimples and reduces them

"apply on problem areas several times per day"

My Opinion:

I was really surprised by its effectiveness. It really helps to reduce single pimples and whiteheads within a days or two. It does not leave a weird film on your blemishes. Some others do and have no effect on the pimple itself (feeling of "suffocating" a pimple instead of doing anything). This is different. Was really amazed by it. I would definitely recommend it =)

Negative: the "roll" applicator- may hurt when used over pimples and in my opinion it is not the most hygienic tool

I can`t do a final review on these products because I started using them a few days ago. I will do the next review about it in approximately one month =)

                                                               OVERALL:

I've been trying out these  items now for more than 1,5 weeks and had to stop using them.
It was definitely too harsh for my sensitive but oily skin.

I made the mistake that I did not use a good moisturizer while using all these products. It irritated by skin like crazy and left my skin with weird pimples, especially on my cheek areas- it was similar to a allergic reaction.

I immediately had to skip these products. Right now I am using The Body Shop line for sensitive skin, as well as the Vichy Normaderm line and Effaclar face wash and it took me more than a week to get my skin into balance again.

Positive though: It does exfoliate your skin really well and my blackheads on my nose are gone. My pores seem a lot smoother and clean.

Negative: instead of getting less pimples, I got even more + the strange bumps.... some claim that while using AHA products your skin gets worse for a couple of days and promise that the skin will improve after a few weeks or months rapidly.... Even though I knew about it, I felt it was just too risky just to wait and see....

My advice:
You should definitely use a really good moisturizer while using the Zeniac line, and NEVER forget sunscreen during the day because of the AHA ingredients, which make your skin more sensitive to sun radiation and to prevent negative side-effects from the sun.
I would therefore not recommend this line during the summer - just to avoid sun damage

  2. Hey Supark,
Can I use Avene sunscreen before applying Actipur golden tinted??

  3. @ Gilda: Unfortunately the packaging doesn't say the exact percentage, I would guess between 15- 20 %.

  4. There is another brand called "TAO" which has also a AHA moisturizer in their line (had 20% AHA) as I remember correctly. Unfortunately it is almost impossible to purchase it online. I once bought it at my dermatologist here in Germany. It was pretty good in it's acne-fighting properties

I would use Avene suncreen after you applied the AHA cream. But I would use it less in the summer because AHA makes your skin more prone to sun damage.
